# PipeQuote — Privacy Policy

PipeQuote ("the app") is a quoting and invoicing tool for plumbing professionals. We designed it to keep your data in your hands.

## What we collect
By default, all information you enter — business details, customers, addresses, quotes, invoices, photos, signatures, and prices — is stored **locally on your device** (in the app's local storage) and is not transmitted anywhere.

### Optional cloud backup (off by default)
If you create an account and turn on cloud backup, your data is **encrypted on your device** (with a passphrase only you know) **before** it is uploaded to our backend (Google Firebase). The backup is zero-knowledge — we cannot read it, and we never receive your passphrase. If you create an account, we store your **email address** via Google Firebase Authentication solely so you can sign in and restore your backup. PipeQuote works fully without an account; cloud backup is entirely optional.

## How your data is used
- Your data is used only to operate the app on your device (creating quotes, invoices, PDFs, and reminders).
- **Export:** you can export all of your data to a JSON file at any time. Where that file goes is up to you.
- **Sharing:** when you generate a PDF or compose a customer text/payment message, that content is shared only by you, through your own device's apps (printer, messaging, email). PipeQuote does not send messages or process payments.

## Payments
PipeQuote does **not** process payments and never handles card or bank data. Payment links you send hand off to third-party processors (e.g., Stripe, Square, QuickBooks) under their own terms and privacy policies.

## External links
The optional building-code reference feature links to official third-party websites (ICC Digital Codes, IAPMO). Opening those links is subject to those sites' privacy policies. PipeQuote does not share your data with them.

## Permissions
- **Camera / photos** — only when you choose to attach a job photo. Photos are stored locally with the job.
- The app works fully offline and requires no account or login.

## Data retention & deletion
Because data is stored only on your device, **you control it completely.** Clearing the app's data, using the in-app "Reset" option, or uninstalling the app removes it. We cannot access or recover it.

## Children
PipeQuote is a business tool intended for adults and is not directed to children.

## Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
